I believe he had purchased it from eBay, but this brand and size are one of the commonly available cheap ones out there. The VFD I’m using was sold to me by a friend who also likes big heavy machines and happened to have an extra one on hand. At this stage the 10A breaker was essentially my on/off switch. The bridgeport was getting its own 20A breaker in the subpanel, but I had also picked up a 10A DIN mountable breaker that was being tossed out at work. My first wiring setup saw the VFD being screwed to the wall and wires draped sort of everywhere. At the time though, I was very worried about breaking something. Looking back on it now, I think it is really quite simple and pretty well explained in the manual that came along with the VFD.
Not being completely alien to wiring machines, but not exactly knowing what I was doing with a VFD and 220V, I was a little scared. With the Bridgeport moved into position and the subpanel installed in the garage, I really had no excuse to not get the thing running and start making some chips.
